Hey y’all, it’s Krista with SaddleBox, and for today’s video I’m going to be showing you how to apply fly spray to your horse’s face.

So we obviously don’t want to just spray this directly on a horse’s face, you can get it in their eyes and just give them an overall bad experience with fly spray. So I have a little paper towel here that I’m using. You can also use a cloth or a rag, and basically all I’m going to do is apply my fly spray to the towel, make sure I really get it coated, and then going in a downward motion, I’m going to apply it to her face.

Applying Flyspray to Your Horse's Face

You don’t want to go in an upward motion because then the fly spray could potentially get in her eyes. So I’m just going to go in a downward motion. And it is important to get in the eyes because flies like to hang out around the eyes, the nose, the ears, so those are kind of the most important areas to touch on. Just apply as much as you feel like they need. You don’t want their face to just always be soaking in fly spray, but you want it to stay on their and have enough so it can actually repel flies. Okay, there you have it.

Another thing you can use to prevent flies getting on your horse’s face is something called a fly mask, and basically it’s just a mask that prevents flies from getting on them. And yes, they can see through it, I promise.

All you do for this fly mask is you just take it over the top, put it on their ears, and some of them have protectors all the way down to their nose, which is really nice. And then you strap it on the bottom, just like so, and they are good to go.

Alright y’all, that’s it for this one. I hope you enjoyed it and I’ll see you in the next video. Bye guys!
