Hey guys, it’s Krista with SaddleBox, and today I’m going to be showing you how to do a waterfall braid on a horse’s mane.

Some people call this the running braid, I just call it the waterfall braid, and it’s probably one of my favorite braids because it’s really easy, it only requires one elastic, and it doesn’t take as much time as doing a bunch of individual braids.

How to Do a Waterfall Braid in a Horse's Mane

So to start off this braid, you’re going to start at the top of your horse’s mane, right next to their poll, and I’m going to make sure all of this is clean and brushed through. I’m going to take a little section out like this and I’m just going to kind of start a regular braid like so. I’m going to take this piece, cross it over, and then this piece and cross it over.

So now I have this under piece right here and I’m going to go ahead and grab some extra hair with it. And this is always going to be the piece that you grab extra hair with. Then I’m going to take it over and now I have this piece again, grab a little more, take it over.

You really want to make sure everything is nice and clean when you’re doing it. Take it over. And we have this piece right here, take it over.

So that’s basically it for this braid. It takes a little practice, but once you get it, you’re good. Thank you guys for watching and I’ll see you in the next video!
