Hey everybody, it’s Krista with SaddleBox, and for today’s video, I’m going to give you some tips on how to keep your Western Saddle organized.
So if you are taking your saddle off and you just kind of leave everything not very organized, the next time you pull it out, you’re probably going to be stepping on your cinch, stepping on your girth, your latigo, whatever it may be. So here are some things you can do to help prevent that and keep everything organized.
So, on this side, the first thing you can do with your latigo here is loop it through, and I usually go through twice. So I went through one, I’m going to go through again, and if you know how to do a Texas T, this is probably going to be really easy for you, but basically what I do is I’ll take it out like this, so I’ve gone through twice and now I can go through again, but I’m just taking it to the side here.
And I’m going to go over my loop and then go back under like this to make the Texas T. Then I’m going to pull it. So we’re under, pulling it tight, and then I’m putting the excess through that loop I just made like that. And then your latigo is going to stay nice and organized, you’re not going to step on it, you don’t have to throw it over your saddle or anything like that, and it’s ready to go for the next time.
So what I like to do with my back cinch, and of course my front cinch, is I take this, so you have your little ring here, and I will put this in like so. So all I did was take this, put it in, and then it’s secure. Then, I will fold these back kind of and take this through, just like if I were to be securing it without a back cinch basically, and put it like so. It’s super simple, I know it looks weird, but it’s really, really simple.
So I’ll do that again, taking this through right here, folding these back where they come up, and then I’m literally just putting this through like so and securing it just like that.
That way, when you take your saddle off, everything is nice and secure, you’re not tripping over anything. You’ve got it all secure in one place and organized.
