Hey guys, it’s Krista with SaddleBox and for today’s video I’m going to show you a really simple way on how to keep your supplements with your grain.

So if you soak your horses’ food in water, you probably don’t have this issue with helping powdered supplements stick to the food or the grain or whatever it may be. But if you don’t soak your horses’ feed, you probably realize that when they get done eating, all of the powdered supplements are down at the bottom of the bucket and they didn’t actually get to eat them.

So I’m going to show you a really simple way to help the powdered supplements stick to the horses’ feed.

So I have a bucket of grain and as you can see, I’ve added my powder to it. Well, it just moved, but I’ve added my powder to it and it’s just sitting on top right now, you can see the white. So what I’m going to do is you can take any oil you want, I’ve seen people use rice bran oil, aloe vera oil.

How to Mix Powder Supplements with Horse Feed

I like this one, it’s by Coco Soya, very cost efficient, like you’re not spending $60 on oil; I think this runs about $20 per gallon. But again, I’ve seen people use all kinds of oils, cooking oils. Just make sure you do your research and you’re not using something that’s not very good for horses.

But generally horses really do like oil and it’s really good for their hair, skin, coat and all of that.

So it’s sitting at the top, so I’ll just pour a little bit of this in there and I’ll make sure to concentrate it where I have that powder like so, and so then it kind of gets sticky and then I’ll just shake it.

You can see at the top how the powder is kind of accumulating with that sticky oil and that’s what we’re looking for. So the bottom of the bucket has no powder and all of the powder is mixed in with the grain. It’s that simple.

Alright guys, that’s it for this video. I hope you enjoyed it and I’ll see you in the next one. Bye y’all!
