Hey y’all, it’s Krista with SaddleBox and for today’s video, I’m going to be showing you a saddle pad that can help your saddle fit on your horse.

Okay, so this is my horse, Paisley, and as you can see, she doesn’t have very good withers at all. The term is mutton withers for what she has. This makes saddle fitting a little bit difficult because if I were to use a regular pad on her, the saddle would roll a lot, which it does.

So I recently got this pad, which is a built-up pad. As you can see, it’s got padding here, and it’s very lightweight and breathable. And with this kind of pad, basically what you can do is make your own withers on your horse which can help the saddle stick and hold on better.

Improving Your Saddle Fit With a Saddle Pad

Okay, so I’ve got the pad on and I’m going to put my saddle up. If I were to leave it like this, it would just kind of sit on her like that, kind of build up her withers in a way, but I want to literally build them up and not just out. So I’m going to pull up right here, just like that, so that way the saddle has a little bit more grip on it and it won’t roll as much.

So this is what it looks like from the front, and you can kind of just build it up as you need for your saddle fit and your horse, just like so. So instead of going and getting a whole new saddle, I would recommend trying a pad like this just to see if it kind of helps with your horse and their withers.

Alright you guys, that’s it for this video. I hope you enjoyed it and I’ll see you in the next one. Bye y’all.
