If you are anything like me, you devour everything related to horses. This included books, television shows, and of course YouTube. But you do have to be careful, there is a lot of ‘noise’ on YouTube, and you can get sucked into the abyss of spending a few hours watching cat videos.
So if you are looking for inspiration when it comes to your horsemanship skills, or you are curious about another discipline, I want to share with you 10 equestrian YouTube channels that you might want to check out.
Show Jumping Life
This is a fantastic channel that has a focus of what it’s like to be a show jumper. At the time of writing this, they have 82 videos and climbing. If you are looking for motivation from top competitors, or what goes into designing a Grand Prix jumping course, this is a channel you need to watch.
Laura Kellend-May
Laura is a rated hunter judge from Canada and occasionally she will come a little south into the U.S. to judge some shows. What is unique about her channel is she is giving you a real insight to what the show judge is looking for. She even will do a review for you if you like on your position, riding, etc. If you want to know what the judge really thinks.
She has over 195 videos for you to review and learn from.
Fallon Taylor
Fallon is not only an incredible athlete, but she is a motivated young woman who chases her dreams. She has dreams, goals, hopes and fears and she shares that through her daily vlogs. Some may find her personality a little abrasive, but I find her inspiring. When a set back happens, she figures out a way to overcome it and she takes us, her viewers along for the ride.
Fallon has over 345 videos on her YouTube channel where she documents her life daily via video.
Evention TV
Jimmie and Dom are the hosts of Evention TV and they have over 90 videos in which they share different training tips and entertainment. If you are an eventer, hunter/jumper or dressage rider you may find inspiration in what they share. Along with training tips they also take you along with them as they go to different competitions as well as working on their farm.
I’m sad to say they haven’t uploaded a new video for awhile now, but I am hoping they will get back to YouTube. But in the meantime, their content is so great I watch some of the videos they have over and over again!
Warwick Schiller Horsmanship
If you are a fan of natural horsemanship, you should be watching Warwick. He is an Australian trainer and clinician who helps horse owners to create a relationship with their horses. He has 299 videos available on YouTube. And if you are having a problem with your horse, you may want to watch him work through challenging situations with horses that come to him for training. He is a fabulous trainer that gives practical advice to horse people that need help.
Signe Of Horses
Signe is a unique horsewoman. I’m not sure exactly where she lives, but she is a Viking. And she shares her journeys with us. She has a lot of DIY tutorials on her channel along with her adventures as a Viking role player. Her horse is a fantastic example of what I am sure we would all love our horses to be like.
She has over 110 videos for you to watch, and she challenges us all to “Release OUr Inner Viking!” I just love that.
Joseph Newcomb
I just recently found Joseph, by accident really, but I am so happy that I found him. If you have been around YouTube for any amount of time, I am sure you have heard of Casey Neistat. And if you don’t know who Casey is, you should do a search on YouTube for him, he is fantastic. But back to Joseph. Joseph is a dressage rider who provides education, and also entertainment with the cinematic video’s he creates. He has even said in his videos that he loves filmmaking and is inspired by other creators like Casey Neistat.
But don’ take my word for it, go check out his channel. The Art of the Struggle is a great first video for you to watch.
Your Riding Success
If you have issues with confidence in your riding, or you are looking for some motivational instruction this is a fantastic channel. Natasha Althoff is our instructor, and she has over 600 videos sharing her expertise in the world of dressage. But her methods and advice are applicable no matter what type of riding you do. So go check out her YouTube channel and see what you think.
Equestrian Life
This is an older channel, but the videos are still relevant today. Equestrian Life has over 400 videos showcasing all things equestrian. From grooming to barns, and tack to training. This channel is a wealth of information that can help you to become the best horse person you can be.
The Budget Equestrian
And yes, this is a shameless plug for my own channel! I share LOTS of diy projects and show you how you can be a budget equestrian with everything from making your own horse treats to building your own jumps. I think I have cornered the YouTube market when it comes to building horse jumps. So if you have recently discovered how expensive it is to buy horse jumps, don’t be discouraged. Just check out my channel, and you will be a jump building professional in no time! I have over 375 videos for you to watch, and new ones every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
